Well we've got some news and it's double the blessings! Two gifts!!
Chase and I are excited to announce that we have been chosen by an expectant mother to adopt her TWINS!!!My heart has been bursting for quite some while with this great news and I am feeling such relief as I am typing this that we can finally share with you! We wanted to share with you since YOU have been praying for us and encouraging us through our entire journey!!
A little back story.. and I will refer to our expectant mother as "B". Feb 24th is when Chase and I officially began our adoption paperwork. We shared our "Gift of Infertility" post throughout our town and with friends and many became familiar with our story. Through sharing our story, B got in touch with me about a month into our adoption process. I told her that Chase and I would love to meet her.. if anything to encourage her with decisions that were weighing on her heart.
Chase and I were excited and nervous as we drove to the lunch spot downtown. The meeting went great and B got to share her heart and well as Chase and I got to talk to her about our dream of becoming parents and why we feel so strongly to adopt. Before we hugged goodbye.. she told me when her next appointment was and invited me to come along. Well you know I did!!!
Ya'll....seeing those babies on the screen and hearing their little strong heartbeats at almost 8 weeks was amazing!!! That's all I could think about the rest of the day as I headed to work feeling like I was floating on a cloud! What a gift!!!
It's been great to get to know and develop a relationship with our soon to be birth mother. One that isn't perfect.. but real and honest. That's the way a relationship should be I believe. Because just like a marriage.. adoption anchors families together for life. Whether closed or open adoptions, two families are unified all because of a little life...in our case two lives :) It is my dream for my children to look to B with love and respect as they get older and to know their story. Lots to look forward to! In the meantime, we are all just taking each day as it comes and celebrating the small things.
Ok back to where we are.... We have completed all our requirements to adopt and had our final home study visit last week. We should be getting our 10pg approval in the mail soon! Yay!! There is light at the end of the tunnel for all of you starting your adoption mound of paperwork!!! B is 15 weeks along and our next appointment will be in about 3 weeks. Can you tell I love appointment days?! And how awesome is it that we are getting to follow these little lives pretty much all throughout pregnancy. I love them already :)
We got to find out the genders last week and we invited our parents over for a little surprise gender reveal. Here is the video of us telling our parents..notice our moms and my dad crying :)
How you can pray:
1. The health of B as she is carrying multiples, that her faith in Jesus will be strengthened as she keeps trusting the Lord, and that she will not feel anxiety or worry over these next few months.
2. Baby Girl and Baby Boy- that they will grow strong and healthy and possibly not need any NICU time
3. Chase and I- that we can continue putting God first in our marriage, find joy in everything no matter what happens, and keep our trust in Him.
Twins are usually delivered a month early so we are estimating they will be here around the last week of Oct.
Thank you to all who have supported us financially. We have received our approval to adopt- yet there are still fees and expenses we have to pay as well as I am covered by FMLA for maternity leave- yet nothing is paid.. My prayer is to have 6 weeks off with the babies. Two weeks will be my saved vacation and I am praying God will provide a way for me to stay home four more weeks (2 paychecks).
Love you all thanks for standing right beside us in this incredible journey.
Can't wait to hold our gifts in just a couple of months!!
