Its been a while since we have posted a blog and for that I am so sorry! You get caught up in doing life and the days just pass by so quickly. A time hop picture posted on my feed the other day of Chase and I moving to Dalton/Ringgold area and I just cannot believe it has been three years. In three days our babies will be 19 months and that just BLOWS my mind! Parenting toddlers is just plain crazy. From vocabulary explosions, to temper tantrums and meltdowns to new tricks and following directions.. it is all so insane. How neat it is to see the world from a child's perspective. Everything is so interesting and new! Sometimes things are a little too interesting.. like dog poop. Wade found some crunchy dog poop the other day… he decided it wasn't too tasty after sampling. Hey, that didn't happen on my watch though! ;) Learning to share.. ahh that is a struggle at our house. Why does things become so much more interesting when your sibling is holding it? Its like you haven't paid attention to that toy in weeks but now all of sudden your bro/sis is playing with it and you absolutely have to have it? Then there are times when we are watching a movie or reading a book and one pats the other or rubs their arm or kisses them.. that just warms my heart!
We flew to Colorado to celebrate Chase's oldest brothers graduation not too long ago. Flying with toddlers. Wow! If you don't drink.. fly with toddlers. You will. The trip was wonderful and it was so great to catch up with TX family and see our bro and sis in law. When you are out of your time zone, not in your bed and familiar surroundings, kids waking you up at 4am in the morning,.. its easy to be cranky and distract you from that "vacation mode". Loosing my father has taught me the most to just enjoy life. Drink it in!! Don't focus on petty stuff, instead, invest in others. I had precious conversations with the grand parents and heard stories from their past. I love watching others love on my babies. It just warms my heart! We came back to Ga tired but with such full hearts!
I really wanted to post this blog tonight to encourage those who I have recently spoke to about adoption. So many of friends I know are in the process, praying about starting the process, or others are just so overwhelmed by it all they do not know where to begin! One just got matched!! I am praying for you!!! I am a firm believer that if God brings you to it.. he will see you through it. I went back and reread our original post… there is so much joy in the journey! Do not put God in a little box.. pray and expect big things because that is what he can do!! He will grow your faith and show up big in your life if you let him. Don't settle with doubt, frustration, worry or fear. That is not from HIM. He wants you to trust him completely in the waiting.
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love. Ephesians 3:16-17
We love you all! Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Eat some ice cream.. just be a little neater about it then these too.
