Chase is saying goodbye to the EMS world and going into the family business in a couple of weeks. Before he leaves we wanted to use his week vacation so we packed up and drove to Texas ( with Bonnie in tow) !! He was born and raised there and is a true Texan to the core. His dad's parents and aunts and uncles live there and we hate that we cannot see them more often. 12 hours is a long way away. But WHAT a week!!! On the way there we kept seeing signs for a Browns Country Store and Restaurant "100 ft Buffet".. why not? It was pretty tasty. We spent the first part of the week with Honey and Pappy. All you can eat cat fish, antique shopping, and of course some fishing. We spent one evening looking through old photo albums and it was so wonderful seeing pictures of my handsome man as a little kid with his two brothers and hearing all sorts of stories about the Womack boys. They were a mess. These pics are bitter sweet to me because I have to catch myself and remind myself that our children are not going to be the perfect outer mixture of us.. but that hopefully be the perfect mixture of our hearts, soles and personalities. He was pretty cute though ;) Monday was great weather for fishing all day... even though the fish were not really biting. Pappy taught me how to tie a palomar (spelling??) knot and Chase caught about six bass. Country back roads that Honey and I walked and chatted on. Tues night we met up with Chase's very best friend and partner-in-crime in high school, Justin and his wife Audrey. They were so kind to drive an hour and half a way to meet us on a work night. Hearing some old and some new stories of their adventures in highschool as well as stories of their son, Carl who is three was so fun! We love you guys come see us in GA!! That night we drove to Gladewater and spent the night with Chase's aunt and uncle, Libby and Andy. Their house sits on beautiful farm land with 25 acres right beside them. They have horses, chickens and hog dogs. These are two of the nicest people around. We visited and spoke of past vacations, recipes, and just life in general. And to top it off.. it was while sharing a pot of coffee. Doesn't get much better than that folks!!! Hannah, their daughter was home from spring break and I enjoyed getting to know her. She is so talented and full of life. Beautiful inside and out!! Wed morning we got up and got to see Andy's dogs in action. They are bred to keep a hog "at bay" so the hunter can come and kill the hog. We got to watch them practice that morning. The rest of the week with stayed with Big Daddy and Dee. Big Daddy spent all day Thursday grilling ribs and we sat on their back porch and talked about their childhood, picked up sweet gum balls and watched some movies. I think Dee fell in love with Bonnie and we tried to convince Big Daddy to let her have a little maltese puppy ( Dee I can bring you one next time) ;). Here is a Christmas tree skirt Dee sewed and gave to me. How precious!!! Big Daddy and Chase Here is our car packed and ready to head back to GA. We got all sorts of goodies that we got to take back with us.. a tiller, pecans, a surger, some garden tools, Chases old turtle shell and even a baby bed!!! The whole week was such a blessing. Chase is my family and I am so proud to be his wife. One of the joys of marriage is expanding your family. I love his family so much and consider it such a gift to spend time with them and get to know them. I feel like the more I get to know them the more I get to know about my spouse. His ties run deep! Just glad he ventured to GA nine years ago :) Thank you friends and family for such a wonderful week! We love you lots. Here is an update on our funds raised and here is a little donkey rodeo video for you to enjoy :) We cannot thank you enough for your support friends! Thank you thank you!!
